Geranium Essential Oils Stops Bleeding
“Several weeks ago I was staying with friends who were having their roof replaced. The job was almost done and one of the roofers was just finishing up when we heard a yell for help. We went out to find the roofer climbing down the ladder with a severely cut hand. He had just replaced the knife blade when it slipped while cutting a sheet of asphalt shingle and he sliced deeply, about a quarter inch deep and an inch and a half long, into the fleshy part of the palm.
Attempts to stop the bleeding with pressure and raising the hand above heart level were not successful when I remembered I had brought my oils with me.
I ran inside to get the Geranium, told the roofer I had heard it could slow bleeding and asked if he was willing to try it. ‘Lady, at this point I’ll try anything!’ I put a few drops on the sliced hand.
The bleeding stopped! Not just slowed but stopped.
We were able to clean off the surrounding area, put on a couple of adhesive stitches to close the wound and cover it with gauze. His colour returned and he was able to go with a friend to the hospital for stitches.”
