Essential Oils and Gardening
I really enjoyed spraying with Spice of Life last year because it smelled so good and I knew I was boosting my immune system. I only sprayed the trees once when in bloom and we had a decent crop of apples last fall — it had been a total loss the two years before because of all the worms.
I’ve already sprayed once for fire blight this year and plan to spray again during bloom.
Last year I also sprayed for the white butterflies that lay their eggs on cabbage. After I sprayed the cabbage, I noticed they went on to other plants, like the kohlrabi plants that were a distance away. I kept spraying wherever they went and finally they gave up. It wasn’t until weeks later that I found out where they had resorted to: the Horseradish plant that’s in the flower bed on the other side of the house. heh heh -that couldn’t have tasted too good.
Since I work on a farm, I have had the undesirable duty of spraying noxious weeds, wearing the uncomfortable respirator and hot clothes to keep covered. It is such a pleasure to spray with something that is good for you rather than poison.
Thanks much,
